For pumping and storing breast milk, you can buy little baggies that store the milk, then pour them into the bottles for each feeding. I used these http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d…
Your pump should come with some bottles that the milk gets pumped in, but it’s handy to have some extras so that you don’t have to wash them so frequently so get some that fit your pump like these http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d… Also these bottles can have nipples screwed onto them then you can use them for feeding as well.
As for bottles, it really is up to you which bottles you use. I don’t want my daughter to only eat from a specific nipple shape so we mix it up. She has the Playtex drop in bottles, Playtex vent air bottles, Soothe bottles, Parents choice bottles and some Nuk bottles. She eats just fine from all the different nipple types, though they are all slow flow nipples. I find she has less air intake with the drop in bottles, but for some reason my SO does not like to use those ones.
All babies are different, so good luck. Since you know you don’t want to breastfeed for more than 6 weeks don’t spend a lot of money on breast milk storage or supplies. I breast fed for 7 weeks and I found that the narrow neck bottles (like the parents choice) would fit on my pump, so I would use those if my other bottles were dirty or full of milk.

So your plan is to breastfeed for 6 weeks, and then pump your milk after that? If so I am happy to hear that you will be continuing to give breast milk :) With my first my daughter was in the nicu for 2 weeks, so i was unable to put her to the breast, so all i did was pump, and then once we brought her home she was never able to latch, so i just continued to pump and bottle feed. I am 36 weeks with my 2nd and i am planing to just pump with this one too. I use milkbank bottles and i think they are great… i have 2 2.5 oz, 3 5oz, and 3 8oz, and i am thinking that will be enough. You don’t want too many bottles because then storage becomes and issue. and i also have the medela milk storage bottles for milk storage, you can get them in a bulk 12 pack. Hope i helped good luck and congrats..

I love the Medela Swing pump because I can take it anywhere. It works great for me. Also, I have about 10 bottles that I switch out, and always have them ready in the fridge. They are the medela bottles that come with it, and some other generic little plastic bottles. I get the munchkin nipples. I breastfeed my 6 month old still, but when I’m gone my husband will feed her the expressed milk.

I have had friends who have breast fed before .They would buy a container and pump their milk and freeze it to store. When starting out on bottles I would get at least 6 to start out with.My friend used drop ins.It is also ok to use other types of bottles that prevent less air as well.I never breast fed but I used the playtex air vent to prevent gasiness .Don’t forget to get breast pads because once the colostrum turns into free flowing milk your breast will leak a lot and swell. The swelling can be pretty painful.

In my opinion the playtex drop ins are the best bottle, make sure you get slow flowing nipples, I have like 3 bottles for my baby, and just clean and wash them as i go.
