The Art of NFP is a great book, it is very thorough and gives a lot of examples of any sort of cycle you may have. But I would encourage you to take a class to learn NFP really well so that you feel confident interpreting any charts you might have. The time coming out of breastfeeding can be confusing and a teacher would be a good asset. The Couple to Couple League (www.ccli.org) is actually phasing out the book The Art of Natural Family Planning and they will be going to a new book and a new format for their classes in the next few months. You can also read an online manual by the same authors at www.nfpandmore.org; that manual is free, a little less to read, but equally good effectiveness. If you don't want to take a class, you can do a homestudy course through CCL or Northwest Family Service has an online class at www.nwfs.org. The Toni Weschler book is good as well, I didn't feel like it was quite as comprehensive, but it does do a really good job of explaining the cervical mucus sign.
Oh, and CCL will be releasing NFP software in the near future, you might keep your eyes open for that. Hope the information helps.
