I’m 29 weeks pregnant and will be spending 3 months at home then going back to work. I’ve begun swimming around in the vast confusing pool of info on breast pumps. Do any mothers have advice, insights or a fav breast pump that they fell in love with? I’m ready for all the other stuff but I’ll admit that breast feeding is the topic I’m nervous about. I feel completely in the dark.

I used the Medela Pump in Style for both pregnancies. I had a car charger and a wall plug in. I pumped for 6 months at work with both babies. Doing that is hard without a quality pump! I was super happy with mine.

I used the medela and loved it, it never gave me a problem and sucked the milk out of me lke crazy! One thing though that I would like to pass on to you is that if you are breastfeeding and you have a sore or cracked nipple, your baby can actually get blood and and if they spit up you can see it! One day my daughter started spitting up blood, and I went insane, I thought something really bad was going on and I called her dr and he was not concerned at all he calmly asked if my nipples were irratated and said that is why, it was nothing to worry about and to continue feeding her! I wish I knew that could happen before, so I would not have been so scared! I took the breastfeeind class and nothing like that was ever mentioned and I think it should have been!!! Sorry, i just don’t want anyone to go through that like I did!!!

I had the medela pump in style. It was too expensive for the amount that I used it, but it did work well when I did use it. It was easy to carry. Everything was stored inside the pump. I would recommend it to someone. Some insurance companies will pay (or pay part of) a pump.

I used the medela swing, it was great, didn’t hurt like the manual tommee tippee one but i only used it for a week then she emptied me and had to go onto bottle. I made the mistake of paying £89.00 fr mine before i had her, wait and see if the baby takes to your milk first, Jasmine didnt like it cos she is a hungry baby…
Good Luck x

I used the lactina, it was great, I think there’s a new one out that’s smaller though.
Do you know you can rent one?… I got to rent one for FREE even though I don’t qualify for WIC. Here are some places you can rent from:http://www.associatedcontent.com/article…

the best pumps are hospital grade pumps that you can rent for about $30/mo from a pharmacy or medical supply. That way you only pay for it as long as you need it and it a high quality pump
