I dont want the copper one as i explained on my 6 week check and she said thats fine but now im booked in will they give me a choice and do they do a pregnancy test (i havnt had a period since birth 15 weeks ago due to breastfeeding and no havn’t had sex) x

yes they will give you a choice. no they wont do a pregnancy test if you haven’t had sex. they will ask you however if there is any chance you are pregnant.

My doctor’s office have to order IUDs from the manufacturer so you might want to call and confirm that they didn’t order you the Paraguard (it is the one with copper). Personally I had the Mirena (no copper) inserted at my 6 wk check up and 4 years later suffered a miscarriage because of it. After they removed it and I recovered I decided to give the Paraguard a shot. I had it in for the last year until I decided to have another baby and had no problems.
